As long as a round is still open for investment, it's not too late to become an investor. However, even if you've already started the investment process, your investment will not be counted if you fail to sign off on the transaction prior to the close of the round. Note that most rounds have a midnight EST close time.

This means that if you've started linking via account and routing number, it's unlikely that you'll be able to complete your investment within the necessary timeframe.

If you're wondering what you can do, here are some options:

Have you recieved microdeposits?

If you started linking your account over 1 day ago, check your account for two small deposits. If they're in your account, head to mainvest.com/dashboard/bank-accounts and enter the amounts where prompted to verify the account. Then, head back to the offering page, and restart the investment from the top, following the prompts through to the final sign-off screen. Just completing the verification of your account won't trigger an investment, we need your sign-off for each and every transaction!

No microdeposits recieved?

If you just started linking your account- or if you started linking a few days ago, but haven't received microdeposits- the only remaining options are to link an account via Plaid or a voided check. Both options are available at mainvest.com/dashboard/bank-accounts. Learn more here.

Confirming an investment

You'll know that you've invested by seeing confirmation on the screen after reviewing and signing off on each investment. You'll also immediately receive a confirmation email. If you've completed your profile setup and bank linkage but haven't recieved a confirmation email, chances are, you haven't completed an investment. A few ways to troubleshoot:

  • Check your portfolio and transactions table to confirm whether you've invested.

  • Double-check that you haven't created a duplicate account. You can do this by searching your email for past confirmation emails from our team and ensuring that you're signed into the right account.

To complete an investment, head to the offering page, choose your investment amount, click the green "invest" button, and follow the on-screen prompts through the final sign-off page. Even if you've started this process in the past, we will only initiate a transaction upon your sign-off, so you won't have multiple transactions created.
